November 7, 2000 Paige celebrated her 6th birthday.
December 27, 2000 Todd hits deer with car.  Score is now Cathie 2  - Todd 1.  See Cathie's "Craic" page for details on her deer adventures.
January 7, 2001 Erica celebrated her 10th birthday.
February 15, 2001 Todd and Darlene celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  
March 25, 2001 Cathie's permanent resident status was finally approved by the INS.  The original application was filed in December 1992!  Amazing how fast the government works.
April 6, 2001 Erica scored straight A's in the third marking period.  Promotion to the fifth grade seems assured.
May 1, 2001 Link to GetCleaned.comTodd completed an elaborate web site for a business he owns, see it at GetCleaned.com.
May 21, 2001 This website was completely rewritten, updated and expanded.
May 23, 2001 Look Ma, No TeethPaige lost her other front tooth.  Looks like a two car garage with both doors open.  Here is the picture taken five minutes after it happened (click on picture to enlarge it),
May 29, 2001 Erica purchased a clarinet on eBay, and starts lessons next week at school.  This will be her third instrument having already studied guitar and piano.

Big News!

McNeil Nutritionals, an operating company of Johnson & Johnson, has just appointed Darlene to be their new Vice-President of Product Development, reporting directly to the president of the company.  In her new capacity, she will head up the product development efforts for Benecol®, Lactaid®, Sucralose® and other, still unannounced, nutraceutical products.

June 5, 2001 Paige completes her first song on the piano.  More details on Paige's page.
June 9, 2001 Guy & Susan getting marriedAttended wedding of Todd's college roommate Guy Williams in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Here are some of the snapshots Todd took and here are some video clips of the wedding.
June 10, 2001 Erica performed Sonata No. 1 by Jean T. Latour at her piano recital.  Click on the song name to hear her play it.
June 19, 2001 Darlene celebrated her ??th birthday.  Paige got straight A's in kindergarten and will begin 1st grade in the fall.  Erica also got straight A's and will start 5th grade in September.
July 3-15, 2001 Tower Bridge over the ThamesEntire family spent two weeks in London and visited Cathie's home town of Nottingham.  Took many pictures.  Huge photo slideshow of pictures from London, Greenwich, Reading, Nottingham, Morton-on-Marsh and the Cotswold's is right here.
September 1, 2001 Colleen & BrianAttended  Todd & Darlene's goddaughter's wedding in Bristol, CT.  Colleen Smith (Todd's niece) wed Brian Horan.  A great time was had by all.  
October 13, 2001 Todd celebrated the 19th anniversary of his 29th birthday.  Mom and the kids threw him a great party with his favorite dinner and wonderful gifts.

Paige'e 7th birthdayPaige turned 7 on 11/7, but had the party on 10/28 so she could make it a Halloween party as well as a birthday party. Here's a picture of Paige and Mom at the family party on her real birthday.
November 13, 2001 SatDish.jpg (87028 bytes)We may not get DSL service or two-way cable modems out here in cow country, but we now have high-speed two-way internet service via satellite from DirecWay. The same dish also provides our DirecTV service. Bye bye cable guy.
November 21-23, 2001 Macys Star BalloonTodd & Darlene took the kids into NYC for two nights to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We were joined by Darlene's mom, her two brothers, Rockefeller Center Skating Rinktheir wives, and a relative from Canada now living in Manhattan.  After the parade we had a lovely dinner at the Sea Grill alongside the skating rink atCMOM TV Show Production Rockefeller Center.  Finally on Friday, we took the kids to the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), where they got to produce and star in their own TV game show.  
November 26, 2001 Rob & MargaretCathie celebrated her 35th birthday, with her American family and her mum, who is visiting from the UK.  Her boyfriend Rob, Sarah (see the nanny reunion), her husband and their four year old son Jake shared a fancy dinner to celebrate the occasion.  Here's a picture of Rob getting a hug from Cathie's "mum".
December 8, 2001 Christmas Tree 2001The Christmas tree is officially up.  Since we added a lot of furniture to the family room this year, the tree moved to the foyer.  This allowed us to go cut down a large 10 footer at a local tree farm about a mile down the road.  Click on the tree for an enlarged aerial view.
December 22, 2001 Our 2001 Holiday Card was added to the site last week.  The background music was performed by Kendell Healy and recorded on our piano after a lesson.  A whole collection of carols and other music that Ken recorded for us can be found on Erica's Page.  Paige, who has only had a few lessons, also plays carols for you on her updated Paige's Page.
Christmas 2001 & New Years We did a lot of traveling over the holidays, to Grandma Hardie's in central PA, and to Grandma Muncy's on Long Island.   Everyone stayed close to home for the New Years celebration.
